Zoe Lee is a professional bassoonist and pianist that has performed throughout the United States and China. As a professional bassoonist, Ms. Lee has had the opportunity to play with the Newton Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Chamber Symphony Orchestra, New Bedford Philharmonic Orchestra, the Video game orchestra, the Boston Chamber Orchestra, and the New England Repertory Orchestra (NERO).
Ms. Lee has served as principal bassoon for the Wind Ensemble of Boston College, Berklee College of Music, the Video Game Orchestra, and the New England Repertory Orchestra as well. Besides being a professional bassoonist, she is also a professional pianist with over 10 years of piano teaching experience. She was a piano faculty member at the Chinese Elementary school in Boston from 2010-2014 and also received numerous prizes in piano performance throughout her decorated career.
Ms. Lee pursued a Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in bassoon performance at Boston University, however, decided to suspend her study while she received the professional position as an associate principal bassoon for Guiyang Symphony Orchestra in 2014. She has received numerous repetitions in China in the past 8 years and now serves as a principal bassoonist for The National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra in Beijing.
Ms. Lee graduated from The Boston Conservatory with a full scholarship in 2009 and holds a degree in bassoon performance and piano performance. She received a Master's degree at Boston University in 2011 and has been invited to participate in numerous workshops, music festivals, and master classes.
As an Associate Director of MMI, Ms. Lee believes that students will learn how to identify their strengths and develop self-confidence while learning music. Her pedagogical objective is to give each of her students a thorough understanding of music so they can play the piano with the most musicality and enjoy the learning process.
